Spades.net is a free card game you can play without an account. We don't ask for your name or email address to play, and we keep what we learn about your visit to a minimum. This page explains exactly what that is.
Spades.net is an independent, privately run website. For any question about this policy or about your data, use our contact form.
Your name, your picture, your settings, your statistics and any game in progress are saved in your own browser, in what is called local storage. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. You can remove it at any time by clearing the site data for spades.net in your browser settings; the game then simply starts fresh.
If the game ever crashes, your browser sends a short technical report to our server so we can find the problem and fix it. The report contains the version of the game, what was happening in the game at that moment (such as the cards on the table, the bids and the score), your screen size and the type of browser you use. It does not contain your name or anything you typed. We use these reports only to fix bugs, and we delete them regularly.
To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use three services:
We only look at totals, such as the number of visitors per day, and we use them for one thing: making Spades.net better. We never try to find out who an individual visitor is.
You can read how Google handles this data in Google's privacy policy, and you can block Google Analytics on every website you visit with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
When you send us a message, we receive your email address, the subject and your message, together with a few technical details: your browser, its language setting and the IP address the message was sent from. We use these to answer you and to recognise abuse. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is sending it. We keep your message only as long as we need it to help you, we never add you to a mailing list and we never pass your message on.
Spades.net is delivered through Cloudflare, which makes the site faster and protects it against attacks. To do that, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and the pages you request. Our web host keeps standard server logs with the same kind of data, for security and troubleshooting, for a limited time.
The game itself uses no cookies, only your browser's local storage as described above. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics. Cloudflare may also set a small security cookie when it needs to check that a visitor is human; that cookie is necessary to keep the site safe.
Because your game data never leaves your browser, we usually hold nothing about you beyond anonymous statistics and any message you sent us. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to ask which personal data we have about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. You can also file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have similar rights to see, correct or delete your data. Wherever you live, you can ask us anything about your data through the contact form. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
Spades.net is meant for a general audience and is not aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, let us know and we will delete it.
